The alarming rise of teenage and youth suicides in G.B (Gilgit Baltistan)

In recent years incidences of suicides appear to have increased in Ghizer, Hunza and other areas of Gilgit Baltistan and this trend of suicide attempt has become a major problem of the area.

According to the human right commission of Pakistan from 2010 and onward there are more than 150 people in G.B who took their lives. Among them the highest rate is of teenage and young people of age 18-30.

In 2017 more than 20 young girls and boys committed suicide.
This issue is not just bounded to some areas but the entire Gilgit Baltistan.

Usually urban areas are considered to be physiologically comfortable. And natural environment can provide opportunities for stress recovery and  also can reduce the risk of anxiety and depression.

Gilgit Baltistan is also among one of those areas where the rate of literacy is comparatively very high and they people are not facing any serious of problem poverty or financial issues.

Its serious issue to ponder that instead of living a true natural areas, residents are facing acute mental issues and ultimately, they are killing themselves.

However, there is not rational reason behind this trending rate of committing suicide. Even police and the high authorities of the area are unaware about the causes behind the emerging trend of suicides.
There could be many causes of this increasing rate of suicide attempt like; lack of parental support, failing in some point of life, any kind of bad addiction, severe anxiety and depression etc.
Although every person in the society directly or indirectly facing many problems but there are some people who think these problems never be solved and this kind of thoughts can lead to suicide attempt.
